We are reminded that Monday is Memorial Day.
On that day, we remember those who have fought and died for freedom for this country.
Unfortunately to most it has become just a holiday that kicks off the summer, a time to enjoy sports (Indy 500), go to the pool or family picnics.
Of much greater importance to the Christian, we have been given a memorial to remember the death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

At least on a national level, odd-numbered years are the off season in electoral terms. All 435 congressmen, 100 members of the Senate and even the new president can breathe easy for a while – no electoral process officially gets underway until the year ends in an even number. Your election, however, is always a process for the present time. It is not an election to federal office, but rather a selection and confirmation for salvation itself. Continue reading
The covenant of circumcision was first given to Abraham in Genesis 17 and became a sign of the covenant between God and the children of Israel. The early church had numerous problems with Jewish converts trying to impose circumcision upon Christians (Acts 15). When the Law of Moses was abolished, the covenant of circumcision was also abolished. However, Paul uses circumcision to describe the avenue of salvation for all men. Continue reading
Because the devil is trying to destroy our faith.
Because the Bible warns brethren that “the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
This is why the gospel preacher must be prepared to preach the word at all times without fear nor favor of men.
Will you continue to fight the good fight of faith so that you might receive the heavenly reward or will you compromise?
Women are under increasing pressure to think they can only succeed in life if they pursue a career, are financially independent, or have status.
In 2003, 77.8% of mothers were in the labor force with children ages 6-17 (up from 55% in 1975), while 62.8% of those with preschool children under age 6 were employed. (up from 39% in 1975)
The world praises the “career” woman while mothers who stay home are put down.
Consequently mothers may neglect their God given responsibilities to teach them or may even abort them.
But what does the Bible say about children?

Last week we studied how the mountains testify to the powerful presence of God at Mt. Sinai, Mt. Carmel, & the Mount of Transfiguration.
We learned that God punished man for making their disobedience.
This morning we will study the passages that deal with the mountain of the house of the Lord in the Old Testament.
We will examine the prophecies in connection with it and after gathering all the facts of the inspired writers make a necessary conclusion.
