While physical exercise is very important for us to have good health it is of little value compared to exercising yourself to be godly. This morning we will examine physical exercises that help our bodies and we will make spiritual applications so that we can receive blessings from God both now and in eternity.

Tiger Woods is just the latest high profile person to be exposed as an adulterer. Senator Max Baucus is another. Woods gets more attention because he is better known and because of so many women being connected to him. Whether it is one or over a dozen, adultery is the same: it destroys lives. Continue reading

This time of year we see things like Nativity scenes with animals, shepherds and wise men gathered around a manger to gaze on the baby Jesus. We hear things like let’s put Christ back in Christmas and Jesus is the reason for the season! There is even a tradition among the Catholics wherein a local couple is appointed to “shelter” a statue of the baby Jesus until Christmas Day. Among the denominations there will be plays and concerts, all to celebrate the birth of Christ. Though there are many errors associated with Christmas as a religious holy day, there is one thing that most folks focus on throughout this season: a baby. Continue reading

You would think that in our technological world everyone would be content in America. Many have big screen TV’s in their home with a multitude of channels to entertain them, computers with lightning fast speed to learn whatever we desire, and cell phones to call whomever we want at a minimal cost. Even the richest person who lived in the past could only dream about what we enjoy everyday. But it doesn’t satisfy us! What is the secret of contentment?

There is a culture war going on in America; of that there is no doubt. On November 20, 2009 the Manhattan Declaration (A Call of Christian Conscience) was published as a call to action in that war.
