The above title brings to mind the question – “who do you want your children to be?” No matter how you respond, the answer to who they will be, is more than likely who you are. There is a proverb in the Bible that says “Like mother, like daughter” (Ezekiel 16:44), and the same principle applies to fathers and sons. If we want our children to be good in secular endeavors, we will start them at a young age teaching them the fundamentals, having them practice, helping them to discipline themselves, and encouraging them to be the best they can be. I Support Gay Marriage

Sunday, May 12th, 2013

by Steven F. Deaton

I am all for gay marriage. So is God. And Christ. And the Holy Spirit. And anyone who loves God and mankind.

In fact, God intended marriage to be gay from the beginning.

Have you figured it out yet?

Gay is happy. Though this is the third definition given on, if you note the origin of the word, it says, “1275–1325; Middle English gai.” “Gay” in 1275‑1325 did not mean anything remotely close to homosexuality. It meant “having or showing a merry, lively mood.” Synonyms include “cheerful, gleeful, happy, glad, cheery, lighthearted, joyous, joyful, jovial.”

Homosexuals coopted the designation “gay” in an attempt to mask and misrepresent reality. Homosexuality is not happy. It is not a joyful lifestyle that brings… Continue reading

The Mother of Jesus

Sunday, May 12th, 2013

by Joe R. Price

The angel Gabriel announced to Mary the great honor God gave her of giving life to the Christ, the Son of God: “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women” (Lk. 1:28)! As the “maidservant of the Lord”, this virgin conceived and gave birth to the Savior of the world (Lk. 1:39‑56; 2:11).

Today is Mother’s Day, and we are reminded that¼

1) The mother of Jesus did not abort her child. Mary was a virgin, though betrothed to Joseph (Lk. 1:34; Matt. 1:18). Upon learning that she was with child, Joseph was prepared to avoid a public scandal and “put her away secretly” until God’s angel appeared to him with divine instructions (Matt. 1:19‑25). There was a time… Continue reading

From Highway 290  (from Houston/Chappell Hill):

As you approach Brenham take the first exit for FM-577 and Hwy 290 Business. Continue through the first light on the feeder road. Be in the left lane and make a U-turn at the second light.  As soon as you make the U-turn, move to the right lane and begin slowing down.  Our parking lot driveway is on the right side just past the Pawn Shop.  If you miss the first exit coming into Brenham, take the next exit for Highway 36 and then make the U-turn.  Stay on the service road; do not get on Highway 290.  Travel 1.7 miles until
